Mark Joined Philip Morris International Inc. in 2000 as Regional Counsel, EU Region. In 2002 Mark became Vice President and Associate General Counsel for the Western Europe Region and, in 2005, he was appointed Vice President and Associate General Counsel, European Union. He became Senior Vice President and General Counsel in June 2007 and was appointed Deputy General Counsel in November 2008. Prior to joining Philip Morris International Inc., Mark served as Assistant General Counsel, Worldwide Regulatory Affairs for Philip Morris Companies Inc., between 1996 and 2000. Before joining Philip Morris Companies Inc., Mark worked on litigation issues for more than ten years in the New York and Hong Kong offices of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton. A member of the New York Bar, Mark earned a law degree from Harvard Law School and an undergraduate degree in public and international affairs from Princeton University.
